Bah humbug. No, I don't really feel that way. I do love Christmas but once it's past, I'm done! I just want the decorations in their boxes, the tree to disappear and the toys to be put away.
I am excited about starting new projects, though - tonight I cut out a jumper for J. (butterick 4842). She's 4 1/2 and according to the measurements on the envelope, is a size 2! At least her chest and waist are size 2, for height she's closer to a 5.
I learned the hard way with her nightie for Christmas that I really should pay attention to those measurements! Her nightie is HUGE. Actually I should have learned that lesson around Halloween when I partially finished a size 4 Snow White dress and it was so big that I scrapped it and started from scratch again at size 2/3. That one fits perfectly has been worn constantly for the last 2 months. In fact, she's wearing it right now. To bed. Instead of her new nightie *sigh*.
Anyway, high hopes for the jumper. My girl is so picky I never know what she'll like. I probably shouldn't put in the time and effort to make her clothes until she's out of this phase but by then she probably wont want to wear "homemade" anymore anyway! Ooo, I do sound grumpy!

Projects for 2009
I have been reading other people's crafty blogs for a few months now and still don't have anything original to add but when I look back at the projects I made in 2009, I'm pretty impressed with myself!
and there were others I didn't take pictures of! I made a couple of hats and skirts for the girls, and halloween costumes. Not so that I want to post pictures of the kids here, though. I'm not sure why!
I'm excited for the new year because I have a stack of new fabric and lots of projects planned. I might even get around to posting some of them here, just so I can keep myself motivated.
Here is one of the 6 water bottle carriers I made from pink chalk studios tutorial (four were auctioned to raise money for the run for the cure.
Another item I donated was this buttercup bag (made using Made by Rae's tutorial). I really wanted to keep it for myself so maybe one day I'll have to make another one!

They're all different . . .
J. could never wait for halloween to get dressed up. Then after she would wear her costume anywhere and everywhere if I let her. K. is another story. She would be so cute in her poisoned apple costume if she would just let me put it on her!! I tried calling it a vest but to no avail - all I got was "no vest, Mommy. NO vest, Mommy!!!"
